Theme: LAMBS AMONG WOLVES
Dear friends in Christ, N'wokafu YESU KRISTO...
This morning, in our Gospel reading, Jesus sends out the seventy-two on a mission and tells them, "I am sending you like lambs among wolves." This imagery from our Lord is both striking and perplexing. Why would He send them out as lambs among wolves? How can they protect themselves from being devoured?
It is clear that the identity of the Christian is distinctly distinguished from that of the world. Christians are called to be and remain as lambs.
Beloved, we are called to be lambs in a world full of wolves. We must remain as lambs regardless of our circumstances. Our continuous encounters with the world should not change us. We were sent as lambs, and we must return as lambs, not as wolves.
The Son of God came to us as a Lamb—meek, humble, calm, and good. He claimed no power but embraced gentleness, and He remains so to this day. And he desires that same identify for us.
Just like Jesus, we must navigate this world as lambs among wolves, gently and quietly transforming it, even in the face of attacks and rejection.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, May we remain lambs even as we encounter a world full of wolves. Amen.
May God bless you.
